I’m writing this as I lay in bed with Ellie, watching Mickey Mouse Clubhouse: Choo Choo Express for the fifth time today. Sure we have ten other episodes recorded but she request this one over and over again. Tonight Ellie graced us with her new dance moves, she was quite the performer. I know I don’t dance very well and Ellie has picked up on my silly moves. Ha!

At however many months (22? Right?!) Ellie is quite independent, talkative, and oh so expressive. She loves to read, sometimes requests to go “na-night” and crawls in bed by herself, and other times hates bedtime with an absolute passion. Ask her to do downward dog and she’ll do it right then and there. (Still not sure where she picked that one up, I haven’t done yoga in a long time!) She dances with her two index fingers waving in the air and recently picked up the art of walking backwards/running into walls.

Ellie loves to color. It makes my heart melt just a bit. She’s learned how to draw circles and has quite the imagination and concentration. Sometimes she tells me that she’s drawing circles, or babies, or apples, or faces and spends a lot of time on each. Speaking of babies, she’s convinced that one day when we have another baby it will be a girl. A “gul” she says!

my ellie girl

Buzz is her new favorite character and requests to watch him or “fly'” like him a hundred times a day. Buzz Lightyear to the rescue, getting this girl to smile for me in the photo above. She still sleep talks: “Anna! Mickey! Milk! Minnie! Coooooooooooookie!” Bath time is a fav, along with the park, shoes, playing in the water, and when daddy gets home. Now, if only we could slow down these next two months….how is it that we will soon have a TWO YEAR OLD!?!?
