For one of Brian’s Christmas gifts, I booked us a night at a lodge in Zion National Park. Come to find out, in all the years he’s lived in Utah, he’s never been to Zion! So of course, we had to go! My family was super excited to watch Ellie and, let’s be honest, we were excited to get a full night of sleep! The last few months we haven’t had as much time just the two of us, so it was nice to spend some time together (and not trying to have a conversation over a crying baby ;) We missed E, but we had a blast! We spent all afternoon Friday hiking (my first time hiking Angels Landing!) and then spent the rest of the evening poolside in seventy-five degree weather, eating the most delicious, heavenly steak at the Spotted Dog Cafe, and relaxing in the hot tub. (Headed to Zions? Stay at Cable Mountain Lodge, it was fantastic!) Saturday we (meaning Brian) cooked us a divine breakfast and off we went hiking again. Have I mentioned how sore I was after? Holy hikes! The Hidden Canyon hike in Zion was our favorite (but I still freaked out when we had to hang on to the chains on the cliff part. ahh!) So much fun hanging with my handsome honey for the weekend! (How did I get so lucky?!)
