DIY noodle necklaces + the cutest clothes you ever did see

toddler colorful noodle necklace diy

When we should have been washing sheets or cleaning bathrooms, Ellie I decided we needed to have craft time instead. It was a difficult decision (haha) but we figured the chores could wait till later. After inspecting our craft supplies, need more glue, paint running low, we found ourselves scouring the pantry. Noodles? Why not!

Ellie’s been obsessed with my necklaces lately, so a noodle necklace was an obvious choice. Want to make your own? It’s easy! Divide penne noodles into separate Ziploc bags. Add 4-5 drops of food coloring and spread evenly. We did this by shaking the bags a few times. Let noodles dry completely on a paper towel. You know, or they’ll stain your toddlers hands. Lesson learned. ;)

Next, string noodles onto twine. For little hands, this might be a little tricky! I ended up holding the twine while Ellie slid the noodles on in random patterns. Once finished, tie the ends, quick!, before little hands whip the untied necklace around the room.

And just like that, you’ve got a kid friendly, colorful necklace and a morning well spent. Pair with matching colorful shorts and you’re good to go! What are some of your favorite crafts for kids? We have a lot more chores we’re, ahem,  trying to avoid. ;)

P.S. Take a look at Ellie’s darling shorts! We recently came across the most darling, affordable, Utah based clothing company, Tippi! I can’t get over how much I love their toddler blumes. They’re super soft and Ellie has been living in them these last few weeks. I wear my arrow shirt all the time, and dare I admit, multiple days in a row. ;) It’s the perfect blend of comfy and cute, and pairs well with a maxi skirt, shorts, or even my sweats.
